Petrol And Diesel Price Update: On Friday, 25 August, the cost of petrol and diesel remained largely unaffected in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai. Over the past few months, prices for petrol and diesel have been stable.
Individual cities, however, experience daily pricing changes. State-by-state variations in the cost of fuel and diesel can be attributed to factors like Value Added Tax (VAT), freight costs, local levies, etc.
Fuel rate in different cities:
Petrol costs Rs. 101.94 per litre in Bengaluru, and diesel costs Rs. 87.89 per litre.
Petrol costs Rs. 98.65 per litre in Chandigarh, and diesel costs Rs. 88.95 per litre.
Petrol costs Rs. 102.63 per litre in Chennai, while diesel costs Rs. 94.24 per litre.
Gurugram’s gasoline and diesel prices are respectively Rs. 97.04 and Rs. 89.91 per litre.
Petrol costs in Kolkata are Rs. 106.03 per litre and diesel costs Rs. 92.76 per litre.
Petrol costs in Lucknow are Rs. 96.57 per litre and diesel costs Rs. 89.76 per litre.
Mumbai prices for petrol and diesel are Rs. 106.31 and Rs. 94.27, respectively.
Petrol costs Rs. 96.72 per litre in New Delhi, and diesel costs Rs. 89.62 per litre.
Petrol costs Rs. 96.65 per litre in Noida, and diesel costs Rs. 89.82 per litre.
Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in the public sector, such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), regularly adjust their petrol and diesel prices according with foreign exchange rates and benchmark pricing. Every day at six in the morning, any changes to the price of fuel and diesel go into effect.
