In the first hike in four months, the fuel prices have been raised in India. Diesel and petrol prices have been hiked by 80 paise. It was in November when the country saw the last fuel price surge.
PETROL, DIESEL RATES
Petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs 96.21 per litre as against Rs 95.41 previously while diesel rates have gone up from Rs 86.67 per litre to Rs 87.47.
In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 105.51 per litre while diesel rates increased to Rs 90.62 per litre.
The prices of petrol and diesel in Tamil Nadu’s Chennai have increased to Rs 102.16 per litre and Rs 92.19 per litre, respectively.
In Mumbai, petrol is now priced at Rs 110.82 per litre while diesel is at Rs 95 per litre.
How to check petrol and diesel price in your city:
The difference in the price of fuel in the states are due to the tax and the cost of transportation imposed by the central and state government.

Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel rates daily, taking into account crude and rupee-dollar rates in international markets. Daily price changes for fuel are effected at 6 am every day.
