Amidst the decline in Asian markets, the domestic stock market has once again registered a strong fall on Thursday. The Sensex recorded a fall of 1,000 points in the opening today. Nifty also fell below the level of 17,000. Asian markets are witnessing the biggest fall in the last 14 months since the US Federal Reserve Bank indicated to raise the interest rate. After opening today at 9:26 am, BSE Sensex fell 1,011 points or 1.75 per cent to reach the level of 56,847. At the same time, Nifty fell 180 points or 1.62 to the level of 16,998 during this period.

Tech Mahindra, Nestle, Wipro were the biggest losers on Nifty, while only ONGC’s shares were in the green.
The market was closed on Wednesday on Republic Day. At the same time, there was a fall in the stock markets on Tuesday, but in the closing, its continued decline from the last five trading sessions was stopped and the BSE Sensex closed by jumping 367 points. At the same time, Nifty closed at 17,277.95 with a gain of 128.85 points or 0.75 percent.
