Today, the second trading day of the week that is , Tuesday, the stock market closed on the green mark after the day’s ups and downs. During trading today, the Sensex had touched a record level of 54,779.66 and the Nifty 16,359.25. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex closed at 54,554.66 with a gain of 151.81 points (0.22 per cent). On the other hand, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 16,280.10 with a gain of 21.85 points (0.13 per cent). Last week, the Sensex gained 1,690.88 points or 3.21 per cent.
During trading today, the share of telecom company Bharti Airtel rose five per cent to Rs 627.95 on the BSE, which is its all-time high level. Finally it closed at 622.25 level. Earlier it had reached the highest level of Rs 623 on February 4 this year.
JSPL’s net profit jumps manifold –
Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL)’s consolidated net profit grew manifold at Rs 2,516 crore for the quarter ended June 30. This figure was Rs 236 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. The total income of the company increased to Rs 10,643.17 crore. At the same time, the total expenditure also increased and stood at Rs 7,233.55 crore during the quarter.
Talking about the big stocks, after the day’s trading, the shares of Tech Mahindra, M & M, Kotak Bank, Bharti Airtel and HDFC closed on the green mark. On the other hand, Shree Cement, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Hindalco and Power Grid closed on the red mark.
