Asian stocks subdued ahead of US inflation data, Fed minutes
The Federal Reserve’s monetary policy will likely be affected by the important U.S. inflation report, which was released on Wednesday. The markets are betting on another increase in interest rates at the Federal Reserve’s upcoming meeting. In volatile trade, the MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific equities outside of Japan fell 0.17%. The Nikkei in Japan increased by 0.49%, and the S&P/ASX 200 index in Australia increased by 0.65%.
Stock Market Today: Nifty charts hint at more upside ahead
Nifty developed a little body of a positive candle with an upper and lower shadow on the daily chart today, indicating a choppy mood. Nifty reached its resistance level of 17,700 to 17,730, which is also the location of the top end of the falling channel and the daily upper Bollinger band.
Tokyo shares open higher ahead of US inflation data
Following Wall Street’s advances, Tokyo equities opened higher on Wednesday as investors awaited the publication of US inflation data later in the day. The broader Topix index increased by 0.61 percent, or 13.52 points, to 2,005.37, while the benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.23 percent, or 64.86 points, to 27,988.23 in early trading.

The Nikkei 225 in Japan increased by 0.53%, the Shanghai Composite in China increased by 0.38%, the KOSPI in South Korea decreased by 0.17%, and the Hang Seng in Hong Kong down by 0.89%. The US market ended the overnight session mostly in the red: the tech-heavy Nasdaq plummeted 0.43%, the S&P 500 lost 0.17 points, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.29%. On Thursday, the BSE Sensex increased 311 points or 0.52% to 60,157.72, the NSE Nifty 50 up 98 points or 0.56% to 17,722.30, and the Bank Nifty increased 531 points or 1.3% to 41,366.50.
