Stock Market Today: The Nifty futures contract traded 22.5 points, or 0.13 percent, higher at 17,676 on the Singapore Exchange, indicating that Dalal Street was likely to have a successful start on Thursday. On the daily chart, Nifty on Wednesday created a tiny red candle with faint upper and lower shadows. The market’s high-low range has reportedly shrunk over the past three sessions, according to chart watchers, and the Nifty has established itself firmly at the critical support of the previously upside broken trend line barrier at 17,600 levels.

Asian stocks ease, dollar subdued as investors tread with caution

A 25 basis point interest rate hike by the U.S. Federal Reserve is anticipated to take place next month, which caused Asian equities to slightly decline on Thursday and the currency to weaken.The Nikkei in Japan increased by 0.07% while MSCI’s largest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside of Japan decreased by 0.16%. S&P/ASX 200 in Australia fell by 0.07%.

Stock Market Today: Tokyo shares open lower after recent gains

Following recent advances, Tokyo equities opened lower on Thursday as investors analysed US company earnings reports for fresh cues.The broad Topix index fell 0.52 percent, or 10.51 points, to 2.029.73, while the benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.53 percent, or 152.94 points, to 28,453.82.

While the Dow fell on Wednesday, the S&P 500 nearly remained flat as investors analysed a mixed bag of corporate earnings, including positive news from medical technology companies that were offset by fall in Netflix shares.
