Stock Market Today: GIFT Nifty indicates a bearish start; NHPC, BSE in focus

The trends of Gift Nifty indicate that the Indian benchmark index is not doing well thus far.

Stock Market Today: At the last close of the Nifty futures, the Gift Nifty is trading at a discount of around 170 points while writing. It is trading at 24,200. Gift Nifty’s tendencies suggest that the Indian benchmark index is off to a bad start. With an Inside Bar candlestick pattern appearing on the daily charts, the Bank Nifty index rose by 370.70 points and close at 50,119 yesterday. Prior to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) statement of monetary policy, the main Indian stock market indices, the Sensex and Nifty 50, are expected to open lower today in response to sell-offs in Asian and US markets.

BSE

The Bombay Stock market (BSE), commonly known as BSE Limited, is an Indian stock market situated on Dalal Street, which is referred to as Mumbai’s Wall Street and as the New York of India. The oldest market in India, BSE, announced on Wednesday a 40% decrease in net profit year over year for the quarter that concluded in June 2024, amounting to Rs 265 crore.

NHPC

An integrated and effective development of hydroelectric power is promoted and organised by NHPC Limited, formerly known as the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, an Indian public sector hydropower business. In the first quarter, NHPC declared a net profit of Rs 1108 crore. During that time, operational revenue totalled Rs 2,694 crore.
