Stock Market Today: The GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX increased by 55.5 points, or 0.24 percent, at 22,814.50 on Wednesday, indicating that Dalal Street was off to a good start. Before the release of US inflation statistics on Wednesday, investors were expected to adopt a wait-and-see attitude, which resulted in weaker openings for Tokyo equities. The larger Topix index fell 0.31 percent, or 8.61 points, to 2,746.08, while the benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.34 percent, or 133.84 points, to 39,639.29. Asian equities were quiet as traders watched for potential Japanese government intervention to halt the yen’s depreciation and waited for U.S. inflation data later on Wednesday to provide hints about potential interest rate changes in the future.

ICICI Prudential
Leading insurance provider ICICI Prudential announced on Tuesday that it has received a GST demand order for Rs 20.50 crore for the 2018–19 fiscal year. The demand notice was received on April 9, 2024, from the Gujarat State Tax Officer’s office. It was issued in accordance with Section 73 of the GST Act, 2017.
Lupin
Prominent pharmaceutical giant Lupin said on Tuesday that the first generic version of Oracea (40 mg doxycycline capsules) has launched successfully in the US. This comes after Lupin’s product was recently approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA).
Paytm
Paytm disclosed on Tuesday that its CEO and Managing Director, Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL), Surinder Chawla, has submitted his resignation. With effect from June 26, 2024, Chawla gave his notice of departure citing personal reasons as well as a wish to pursue other professional opportunities.
