Stock Market Today: Dalal Street appeared to be off to a good start on Monday as the GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX trading higher by 18.5 points, or 0.09 percent, at 19,559. As Treasury yields eased and investors turned their attention to next week’s updates on inflation and other economic indicators, Wall Street’s major indexes closed the week with significant gains, driven by growth and heavyweight tech firms. The 50-stock Nifty gained 100.20 points, or 0.5%, from the previous session to close over the 19500-mark at 19525.55 points. At 65259.45 points, the 30-stock Sensex increased by almost 355 points, or 0.5%.
Rupee ended flat; Tokyo stocks opened higher
A weak US dollar abroad and strong domestic equities markets caused the rupee to retrace from its high levels on Friday, closing with a little gain of 1 paisa at 83.28 against the US dollar. Tokyo equities began the week higher as investors processed central bank leaders’ cautions that the fight against inflation was far from done and found inspiration in the Wall Street surges.

LIC released its Q2 FY24 results after market hours on November 10, 2023. YoY, the profit dropped by 49.35% and the top line dropped by 9.2%. Revenue increased by 6.85% while profit dropped by 16.65% from the previous quarter. Selling, general, and administrative costs increased by 55.58% on a quarterly basis and fell by 41.47% on an annual basis.
Coal India
During the September quarter, the largest coal supplier in the nation recorded year-over-year increases in revenue of 9.85% and profit of 12.51%. The findings were released on Friday after market hours. The company’s potential to generate higher revenue and profitability in comparison to the same period previous year is indicated by the favourable performance. Coal India’s operational income decreased significantly from quarter to quarter, by 25.78%.
