Stock Market Today: The domestic indices, the NSE Nifty 50 and the BSE Sensex, had a good start to Tuesday’s trading, as the GIFT Nifty is up 40 points at 24,245.50. The Nifty50 began July somewhat lower, but a strong surge in the IT counters propelled the Index higher, resulting in a record closing level of 24,141.95, up 131.35 points. Regarding industry performance, PSU Bank was the biggest loser of the day, closing the day with a 0.76% loss, while Media was the top gainer.

Tata Motors

Part of the Tata Group, Tata Motors Limited is an Indian multinational automotive corporation with its headquarters located in Mumbai. The company manufactures buses, vans, lorries, and vehicles. In June 2024, total domestic sales decreased 8% YoY to 74,147 units. Sales of passenger cars decreased 8% to 43,524 units, while sales of commercial vehicles decreased 7% to 31,980 units. Compared to the same quarter last year, its overall sales increased 1.6% to 2,29,891 units in Q1 FY25.

Hero MotoCorp

With its headquarters located in Delhi, Hero MotoCorp Limited is a multinational Indian producer of motorcycles and scooters. It is among the biggest two-wheeler manufacturers in the world and commands a about 46% market share in the Indian two-wheeler sector. In June 2024, the largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer in the world sold 5,03,448 units, a 15% increase over the same month the previous year. The company sold 4,91,416 units in the home market, up 16% YoY, while exports, which totaled 12,032 units for the month, down 15.5% YoY.
