Stock Market Today: The GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX is down by just one point and declined upto 22,470. It indicates that Dalal Street would likely have a quiet start. Names like Hitachi Energy India, which increased by more than 4%, Oberoi Realty, which closed with gains of more than 8% to reach a new high, and Bharti Airtel, which concluded with gains of more than 2% on yesterday, are among the stocks that were in the focus. The S&P BSE Sensex closed 0.93% higher at 73,664 points, while the blue-chip NSE Nifty 50 saw an increase of 0.92% to 22,404 points. Twelve of the thirteen main sectors had positive day-end results, with U.S.-rate sensitive IT equities seeing a rise of 1.66%.

Vodafone Idea

Vodafone Idea, also known as Vi is an Indian mobile network provider with its main offices situated in Gandhinagar and Mumbai. This integrated GSM operator covers the whole of India and provides 2G, 3G, 4G, VoLTE, LTE Advanced, and VoWiFi services. For the quarter that ended in March 2024, Vodafone Idea recorded a total net loss of Rs 7,675 crore, up from Rs 6419 crore in the previous year.

Biocon

Bangalore is home to the Indian biopharmaceutical business Biocon Limited. The company produces generic active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), which are distributed in the US and Europe among about 120 other countries. In the fourth quarter, Biocon Ltd. recorded a 57% decrease in its consolidated net profit, which came to Rs 135 crore. In the previous year, it was Rs 313 crore.
