Stock Market Today: GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX trading 2 points, or 0.01 percent, lower at 20,116, indicating that Dalal Street will have a slow start on Tuesday. Nifty not only set a new record high before closing Monday’s session 176 points higher, but it also crossed the 20,000 threshold for the first time. On the daily charts, the milestone day was represented by a long bull candle.
Rupee settles flat; Tokyo stocks opened higher
The rupee closed nearly unchanged versus the US dollar on Monday, at 83.03, as rising crude oil prices and global inflation concerns weighed on the local currency, despite a record surge in equities driven by FII inflows. Tokyo equities opened higher on Tuesday, buoyed by advances in technology sectors on Wall Street. In early trade, the Nikkei 225 index was up 0.75 percent, or 243.56 points, to 32,711.32, while the wider Topix index was up 0.70 percent, or 16.41 points, to 2,376.89.
Stock Market Today: KKR to invest in Reliance Retail Rs 2069.50 crore
Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), a subsidiary of the oil-to-telecom conglomerate Reliance Industries, said on September 11 that global investment firm KKR will invest Rs 2,069.50 crore in the company through an affiliate. This investment values RRVL at a pre-money equity value of Rs 8.361 lakh crore, placing it among the top four corporations in the country in terms of equity value. RRVL had raised funds from various worldwide investors totaling Rs 47,265 crore in 2020, at a pre-money equity valuation of Rs 4.21 lakh crore.
