Stock Market Today: GIFT Nifty indicates a flat start; LIC, NALCO in focus

Stock Market Today: The NSE IX’s GIFT Nifty fell by 14 points. It is now at 23,018, which means that Dalal Street would likely have a quiet start. On the daily chart, the Nifty finished with a 25-point loss, creating a little bearish candle. The upward trend lacked momentum, according to analysts, as a negative crossing is seen on the hourly time frame. With a loss of 20 points, the 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex ended the day at 75,390. In the meantime, the larger NSE Nifty finished the session at 22,932. It is down by 25 points. Today, a number of corporations like NBCC, GIC, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, JSW Holdings, IRCTC, and many more will release their fourth quarter results.

LIC

The public multinational life insurance business Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is based in Mumbai and is part of the Indian public sector. As of March 2024, it ranked as both the largest insurance company and the largest institutional investor in India, with total assets under management valued at Rs 52.52 trillion (US$660 billion). India’s largest life insurer Life Insurance Corporation of India on yesterday recorded a net profit of Rs 13,782 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2024, which was up by 4.5% over Rs 13,191 crore reported in the similar period of the last financial year. The corporate board has declared a final dividend of Rs 6 per share.

NALCO

The Schedule ‘A’ Navratna CPSE National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) is based in Bhubaneswar and has its registered office there. This integrated complex of bauxite, alumina, and aluminium power is among the biggest in the nation. Due to reduced costs, state-owned Nalco announced on Monday a two-fold increase in consolidated earnings to Rs 996.74 crore for the March quarter. National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Nalco) reported to the BSE that it has made a consolidated profit of Rs 495 crore during the March quarter of FY23.
