Stock Market Today: The GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX increased by 13.50 points, or 0.06 percent, at 21,813, indicating that Dalal Street will likely have a quiet start to the week. After seeing follow-through selling pressure from the upper boundary at 22,000, the Nifty ended the day 82 points down and created a bearish engulfing candle. Due to pressure from the US dollar’s rising overseas and unfavourable sentiment in the country’s equities markets, the rupee lost 5 paise to close at 83.03 against the US dollar on Monday.

NTPC
For the fiscal year 2023–2024, the board of directors of the firm has decided to pay a second interim dividend of Rs 2.25 per share on the face value of paid-up equity shares, which are valued at Rs 10 apiece. The dividend will be paid or dispatched on February 22, 2024. Today is the day that NTPC shares become ex-dividend.
Paytm
Following the company’s clarification that neither it nor its affiliate Paytm Payments Bank Limited are the subject of any investigations for breaking foreign exchange regulations, Paytm shares will also come under scrutiny. Paytm said the additional media reports implying an investigation into the violation of foreign exchange regulations by Paytm or its associate Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) were merely conjecture. Paytm had previously denied that the Enforcement Directorate was looking into OCL, its associates, or its management.
Shriram finance
An interim dividend of Rs 10.00 per equity share has been issued by the firm. “Pursuant to Regulation 42 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements), 2015, the Record date for payment of Second Interim dividend for the Financial Year 2023-24 is Tuesday, February 06, 2024,” stated Shriram Finance in a stock exchange filing. On or before Friday, February 23, 2024, the Company’s eligible shareholders will receive the Second Interim dividend payout.”
