Stock Market Today: The NSE IX’s GIFT Nifty fell 8.5 points and reached to 24,335 today. It shows that Dalal Street would likely have a quiet start to the week. The rupee ended the day 2 paise weaker at 83.97 against the US dollar, trading in a narrow range. Awaiting the publication of significant domestic macroeconomic data, market participants continued to exercise caution and remained inactive. However, Monday’s Wall Street stock market closed in a mixed bag as investors got ready for a barrage of U.S. economic data this week, particularly consumer prices, which will be used to determine the direction of Federal Reserve monetary policy.
Vodafone Idea
Vodafone Idea, also known by its abbreviation Vi, is an Indian telco. It is a mobile phone service provider that is an integrated GSM operator serving all of India. After reporting losses of Rs 7675 crore in the March 2024 quarter and Rs 7840 crore in the previous year’s quarter, Vodafone Idea has reduced its losses to Rs 6,432 crore for the first quarter that concluded in June 2024.
JSW Steel
The flagship business of the JSW Group is the multinational steel manufacturer JSW Steel Limited, based in India. JSW Steel emerged as the second-largest private sector steel company in India following the merger of Bhushan Power & Steel, Ispat Steel, and Jindal Vijayanagar Steel Limited. For $120 million, M Res NSW HCC’s 66.67% economic stake will be purchased by JSW Steel. The business will increase its investment in M Res NSW HCC by $50 million, with the deferred consideration amount being paid in 2030.
