Stock Market Today: Amid conflicting global indications, domestic indices might open flat. Early in the morning trade, the GIFT Nifty futures were trading 19 points, or 0.09%, at 19,876.5. Asian markets were trading in the red, with the Nikkei 225 in Japan down 0.29%, the Shanghai Composite Index in China down 0.21%, the KOSPI in South Korea down 0.25%, and the Hang Seng in Hong Kong down 0.02%.
US market updates
The US stock market closed Thursday’s trading day with a mixed bag: the tech-heavy Nasdaq plunged 2.05%, the S&P 500 dropped 0.68%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) gained 0.47%. Following an intraday high of 19,991.85, the Nifty 50 increased by 146 points or 0.74% to conclude the day at 19,979.15. The Sensex increased by 474.46 points, or 0.71%, to close at 67,571.90 after intraday reaching a new record high of 67,619.17.
Tokyo Market open lower
In spite of the Dow rising for the ninth straight session, Tokyo equities opened down on Friday after US high-tech firms fell due to sell-offs in Tesla and Netflix.The broad Topix index fell 0.21 percent, or 4.85 points, to 2,256.05. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.64 percent, or 208.31 points, at 32,282.21 in early trade.

For the quarter that ended in June of FY24, the FMCG giant saw growth in all key areas, including home care, beauty & personal care, and foods & refreshment, and reported year-over-year revenue increase of 6.1 percent at Rs 15,148 crore and year-over-year profit growth of 8 percent at Rs 2,472 crore. Operating-wise, EBITDA increased by 8.4% to Rs 3,521 crore and the margin increased by 50 basis points to 23.2 percent over the same time last year. The quarter’s underlying volume growth was only 3%, which was less than the 5–6% growth that the CNBC-TV18 poll had predicted.
