FIIs, DIIs net buyers
According to preliminary data made public on the NSE, domestic institutional investors (DII) net acquired shares worth Rs 1,840.98 crore, whilst foreign institutional investors (FII) net purchased shares for net Rs 350.15 crore.
Stock Market Today: Asian markets trade favorably
On the strength of encouraging Wall Street signals, shares in the Asia-Pacific region were trading in the green. While the Nikkei 225 in Japan surged 1.39%, China’s Shanghai Composite increased in trade by 0.4%. South Korea’s Kospi increased 0.16%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index increased by 0.26%. Taiwan’s weighted index increased by 0.88%.
Gold Rate Update
Considering the possibility of a last-minute debt ceiling agreement and the hotter-than-expected U.S. inflation measure, gold gave up some of its gains on Friday and was headed for its third consecutive weekly loss.
After rising as high as 0.9 percent earlier, spot gold was up 0.35 percent at $1,947.09 per ounce. At $1,944.30, U.S. gold futures were largely unchanged.
