Stock Market Today: The Nifty index on the NSE IX is up with 12 points, or 0.06 percent, to close at 19,505.50, indicating that Dalal Street would begin slowly. The 30-share S&P BSE Sensex rose 274 points or 0.42% to end at 65,479 as gains in the banking sector, consistent foreign inflows, and generally strong market sentiment helped offset some profit-taking. This was the fifth straight session the index has rallied. The larger NSE Nifty rose 66 points, or 0.34%, to finish at 19,389, increasing.
Stock Market Today: Tokyo Market and oil prices
Following a US market holiday, investors watched for signs of short-term overheating and opened Tokyo stocks lower on Wednesday.The broad Topix index fell 0.44 percent, or 10.12 points, to 2,296.25, while the benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.69 percent, or 229.99 points, at 33,192.53 in early trade. Wednesday saw a decline in oil prices, wiping out the day’s gains as concerns over a slowing global economy weighing on fuel demand trumped anticipations of a tighter market due to output reductions announced by major exporters Saudi Arabia and Russia for August.

For the quarter ending in June 2023, the Bank’s retail advances increased by 32% YoY while its wholesale advances increased by 8% YoY. The ratio of advances to retail to wholesale was roughly 56:44.
