Stock Market Today: Sensex, Nifty to begin trading amid encouraging global indicators; Asian markets rise

Stock Market Today: The S&P BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, two leading Indian indices, are expected to begin trading in a neutral environment. A two-way trade may be possible today. Hours before the start of local equities markets, Singapore-based SGX Nifty futures, an early predictor of movement in Nifty50, were trading flat, but with a negative tilt. The Dow Futures were trading at 33,718.30, up 14.20 points or 0.04 percent, while it was down 3 points or 0.02 percent, or 17,983.0.

Stock Market Today: Asian markets were trading positive

Asian markets were also performing well, with China’s Shanghai Composite up nearly 3 points to 3,172.38 and Japan’s Nikkei 225 trading at 26,444.40, up 268.84 points or 1.03 percent.

US markets closed in the green

In spite of Tuesday’s ups and downs and considerable volatility, US markets ended up in green. The Nasdaq Composite completed with a three-day winning streak, while Dow finished with 185 gains.

A variety of local and international events will have an impact on the markets when they reopen for trading today. Investors must monitor the behaviour of the rupee, which finished Tuesday’s trading session up and tested 7-month highs.

Expect stock specific action

Based on company-specific news, expect stock-specific movement in Tata Motors, BSE, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Welspun Enterprises, and other companies.

As the Auto Expo 2023 gets underway today, auto stocks will also be kept under the spotlight.
