Stock Market Today: In the midst of unfavourable international cues, domestic indexes are off to a bad start. In today’s early morning session, the Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) were trading 81 points or 0.44% lower at 18,139.5. Asian markets were trading in the negative, with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng losing 1.65% and South Korea’s KOSPI falling 0.86%. Both the Nikkei 225 and the Shanghai Composite Index in Japan were closed on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), the S&P 500, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq all concluded the overnight session in the red as the US market.
Sensex and NSE Nifty50
The BSE Sensex increased 242.27 points or 0.40% to 61,354.71 on Tuesday, while the NSE Nifty 50 increased 82.65 points or 0.46% to 18,147.65. The Bank Nifty index increased by 118.2 points, or 0.27%, to 43,352.1. The Nifty Auto index increased by 93.9 points, or 0.71%, to 13,283.15 while the Nifty IT index soared by 316.8 points, or 1.14%, to 28,025.

After claiming that ChatGPT is hindering its business growth on Tuesday, shares of the US-based online education company Chegg Inc. dropped 48 percent. Chegg’s current revenue outlook is between $175 million and $178 million, far less than the $193.6 million average projection.
