Stock Market Update: Indian indices ended the day in flat to positive territory despite the day’s high level of volatility. The Sensex crossed the 62,000 threshold during the trading day but ended the day just below it, marking a new closing high for the index.
Conclusion of the day
The 30-share BSE Sensex saw highs and lows throughout the day before closing 107.73 points or 0.17 percent higher at 61,980.72, up from the previous close. The index increased by 179.58 points throughout the day to reach 62,052.57, which is a 52-week high.
The larger NSE Nifty closed at 18,409.65, up 6.25 points, or 0.03 percent.
Stock Market Update: Top Gainers
Among the top gainers from the Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Dr. Reddy’s, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, HDFC, and Tata Consultancy Services.
