Stock Market Update: There is a big update for the people preparing to invest in the Indian stock market. On the occasion of Diwali Balipratipada, there will be no trading on Wednesday 26 October and both the major stock exchanges, National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will not open today.
According to the information given by the stock market, trading from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm in every trading session on both the exchanges will be closed today. Balipratipada is celebrated on the fourth day of Diwali. This festival is celebrated on the first date of Shukla Paksha of Hindu lunar month Kartik. It is celebrated as the victory of Lord Vishnu over King Bali. Today the festival of Govardhan Puja is also being celebrated in many parts of the country.
According to the BSE, there will be no trading in the equity segment, equity derivatives segment and SLB segment along with currency derivatives segment and interest rate derivatives segment on the exchange on this day. Apart from this, no trading will be done in the new debt segment today. Trading in the reporting, settlement and trading and tri-party repo and commodity derivatives segments will remain closed today.
This exchange will open in the evening
Today the Multicommodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will also be closed in the morning session. This is the first listing exchange in the country. However, trading will take place in the evening session on MCX and it will be open from 5 pm to 11.55 pm. In the commodity derivatives segment also, trading will be closed in the morning session, but trading will start here in the evening session as well.
