Swiggy: In order to join the enormous retail industry, online food delivery service Swiggy said on Thursday that it has bought retail distribution firm Lynk Logistics Limited for an unknown fee. Following the acquisition, Lynk will continue to run as a stand-alone company under the direction of Co-founder and CEO Shekhar Bhende, according to a statement released by Swiggy. Swiggy’s debut into the sizable retail industry with a technology-driven distribution infrastructure will be aided by the acquisition. Lynk is one of India’s largest tech-driven FMCG retail distribution companies; it was founded in 2015 by Abinav Raja and Bhende.
Lynk’s Brand-First, Tech-Led Approach Sets Them Apart
“Lynk is uniquely positioned in the retail distribution space with their brand-first, tech-led operating model and has demonstrated success with multiple FMCG brands,” said Sriharsha Majety, CEO, Swiggy. He said that, “Our experience in supply chain and logistics gives Swiggy the unique opportunity to help Lynk scale up their offerings and empower retailers to serve their customers better.” In the top eight cities, Lynk boasts a network of more than 1 lakh retail locations. The business has increased profitability while growing by a factor of 2.5 annually.
Lynk Partners with Swiggy to Accelerate Expansion
Bhende said, “With Swiggy, we now hope to further accelerate our growth and double down on the tremendous opportunity before us.” To power the full retail distribution value chain, including operations for warehousing, inventory management, and transportation, Lynk uses a patented, integrated technology platform. A full-stack FMCG retail distribution infrastructure is being built.
