Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is one of the largest IT firms in India. The company is currently facing an unexpected problem. Three years after the arrival of the Covid epidemic, TCS is no longer allowing employees to work from home (Work From Home WFH). It has been claimed in the media report that in such a situation, where the period of resignation has started among the women employees, the applications of women for new jobs are also coming down.
Mass Resignation Among Female Employees As Company Ends Work From Home
It is believed that TCS has been one of the leading companies in terms of employing women. The company believes that TCS’s decision to end work from home (WFH) is one of the reasons responsible for the rapid resignation of women employees.
TCS HR chief Milind Lakkad said in a newspaper, there have been more resignations of women employees after the company stopped allowing employees to work from home (WFH). Lakkar said that although there could be other reasons, this is the first reason. He said the resignation of the women employees was not motivated by discrimination. Generally speaking, women in TCS resign at a lower rate than men. However, this time it has gone beyond men.
Explain that more than 6,00,000 people work in TCS, out of which 35 percent are women. In FY2023, the company has retained 38.1% of its women workforce. Additionally, nearly three-quarters of the top positions are women. It is noteworthy that TCS had reduced its workforce by less than 20% in the last financial year.
