Sensex and NSE Nifty50

The Nifty was down by 152.10 points and reached at 21,995.80 at the closing, while the Sensex was down by 454.69 points and reached at nearly 72,488.99. A little over 2506 shares rose, 1146 shares fell, and 129 shares remained unchanged. Today, Indian benchmark indices had a decrease for the fourth straight day, with Nifty closing below 20,000 amid the East Asia tension.

After the midweek vacation, our markets had a good start thanks to respite from the global bourses. This was largely due to short covering, which helped push the benchmark above 22300. The rise was just temporary, though, as a strong sell-off in the second half was set off, intensifying in the penultimate hour and sending the Nifty below the 22000 level.
