Top 5 stocks of the day: Divis Laboratories, Hero MotoCorp, Adani Enterprises, Hindalco, and NTPC are the top gainers on the Nifty, while Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, TCS, and Tata Motors were the top losers. With the exception of information technology, all other sectoral indices saw gains of 1%, including power, metal, oil and gas, automotive, and healthcare. The BSE smallcap index increased by 0.5% and the midcap index added 0.7%.

Sensex and NSE Nifty50

The Nifty was up 91.90 points, or 0.43 percent, at 21,441.30 at the close, while the Sensex was up 229.84 points, or 0.32 percent, at 71,336.80. A little over 2063 shares rose, 1325 shares fell, and 109 shares remained unchanged. On December 26, benchmark indices closed higher for the third straight day, with Nifty closing at 21,450. The Indian rupee closed Tuesday at 83.19 per dollar, slightly less than its closing value of 83.15 on Friday.

Adani Green Energy announces the approval of preferential issuance

Adani Green Energy declared that the Board of Directors had granted the Promoters of AGEL a preferential issuance of warrants for a total of Rs 9,350 crore, or USD 1,125 million, at a price per share of Rs 1,480.75, determined in accordance with SEBI ICDR regulations. The issuance is contingent upon approval from the company’s shareholders at the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on January 18, 2024, as well as regulatory and statutory authorities. The money will be used for both accelerated capital expenditure and deleveraging.
