Top 5 stocks of the day: Hero MotoCorp, Wipro, IndusInd Bank, SBI, and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top losers on the Nifty, while Apollo Hospitals Enterprises, Divis Laboratories, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Cipla, and BPCL were the top gainers. Among sectors, the bank index was down 1%, the real estate index was down almost 1%, the information technology index was down 0.5 percent, the pharma index was up 1%, and the FMCG index was up 0.5 percent. The BSE midcap index increased by 0.3 percent, while the smallcap index remained unchanged.

The benchmark indices closed lower after a three-day winning streak, with the Nifty falling below 18,700. The Sensex was down 310.88 points or 0.49 percent at 62,917.63 at the close, while the Nifty was down 67.80 points or 0.36 percent at 18,688.10. Approximately 1,684 shares rose, 1,754 fell, and 133 remained unchanged.

PNC Infratech jumps 4% on road assets sale buzz
PNC Infratech shares rose 4% to Rs 331.65 on June 15 afternoon, following news that an arm of private equity firm KKR is in talks with the Agra-based company to acquire 12 road projects for approximately Rs 9,000 crore.
According to insiders, KKR’s roads platform Highways Infrastructure Trust is aiming to acquire the projects, which include 11 hybrid annuity model (HAM) roads and one build-operate-transfer (BOT) road.
