The Nifty was down 109.50 points or 0.56 percent at 19,528.80 at closure, and the Sensex was down 316.31 points or 0.48 percent at 65,512.10. 1816 shares moved higher, 1817 shares fell, and 189 shares were constant. On October 2, Indian benchmark indices finished down, with Nifty below 19,550. While the smallcap index increased 0.6 percent, the BSE midcap index finished unchanged.

IDFC First Bank is set to raise Rs 3,000 crore
Unidentified sources told CNBC TV18 that IDFC First Bank is set to raise Rs 3,000 crore through a qualified institutional placement (QIP) on October 3. A green shoe option will be included in the issue. The QIP price is expected to be in the range of Rs 90-91 per share. This is a 3-4 percent discount to the October 3 closing price of Rs 94.25. The QIP’s bankers include a mix of domestic and foreign corporations. In the annual general meeting (AGM) conducted in August of this year, shareholders approved money raising.
