Top 5 stocks of the day: On the Nifty, the top gainers are BPCL, UltraTech Cement, ONGC, Reliance Industries, and SBI Life Insurance; the top losers are UPL, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Auto, and Axis Bank. With the exception of the auto and FMCG sectors, all sectoral indices ended the day higher, with real estate and oil and gas both up 1%. The BSE Smallcap and Midcap indices finished the day flat.
Sensex and NSE Nifty50
The Nifty was up 93.60 points, or 0.49 percent, at 19,140.90 at closure, while the Sensex was up 329.85 points, or 0.52 percent, at 64,112.65. A little over 1863 shares rose, 1741 shares fell, and 192 shares remained constant. On October 30, benchmark indices closed higher for a second straight session, with Nifty closing at 19,150.

AU Small Finance Bank registered a 17% on-year growth in profit
Despite higher provisions, AU Small Finance Bank reported a 17% year-over-year increase in profit for the quarter that ended in September of FY24, totaling Rs 402 crore. During the quarter, net interest income increased by 15% to Rs 1,249 crore, while pre-provisioning operating profit improved by 30% YoY to Rs 648 crore. Asset quality declined throughout the quarter, as net non-performing assets increased 5 bps QoQ to 0.60% and gross non-performing assets increased 15 bps QoQ to 1.91%.
