Alembic Pharma posts Q1 profit
Alembic Pharmaceuticals, an Indian pharmaceutical company, reported a first-quarter profit on Friday, helped by robust sales in both its home and American markets. The Vadodara-based company reported that its combined profit for the three months ending June 30 increased to 1.21 billion rupees ($14.6 million) from a deficit of 658.8 million rupees a year earlier. While its U.S. business had a 6% increase in revenue, its India division saw a 9% increase.
