Top 5 Stocks Of The Day: Top gainers in the Nifty index are ICICI Bank, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, State Bank of India, Grasim Industries, and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. NTPC, Hindalco Industries, Bharti Airtel, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation are the biggest losers in the Nifty index, on the other side. The Bank Nifty reached an intraday high of 45718.15 and a low of 44859.15 before closing at 45012.0. Regarding the individual stocks, State Bank of India, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and Bajaj Finance were the top gainers in the Sensex.

Sensex and NSE Nifty50

The BSE Sensex advanced 125.35 points, or 0.18%, to 71,553.78, while the NSE Nifty gained 67.60 points, or 0.31%, to 21,785.55. Notably, the Nifty Oil & Gas, metals, and realty sectors fall, while the Nifty Pharma and Bank indexes rise. According to V K Vijayakumar of Geojit Financial Services, high valuations drive market bears to capitalise on unfavourable news despite good economic indications such as a forecasted GDP growth of 7% and CPI inflation of 4.5% in FY25. Foreign institutional investors aggravate selling pressure by holding large short positions, which are frequently connected with rising US 10-year bond rates (now at 4.15%).
