Top 5 stocks of the day: The top Nifty losers for the day were ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries, and Britannia Industries, while the top gainers were IndusInd Bank, SBI Life Insurance, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Bajaj Finserv, and M&M. On a sectoral level, the FMCG index lost close to 2 percent, while the banks, oil, and metal all experienced declines of 0.5 percent. On the other side, the capital goods and power indexes both increased by 0.5 percent.

On July 24, major indices declined, with the Nifty closing below 19,700. At closure, the Nifty was down 72.70 points or 0.37% at 19,672.30, and the Sensex was down 299.48 points or 0.45% at 66,384.78. Approximately 1731 shares increased, 1873 shares decreased, and 147 shares were steady. While the BSE Smallcap index finished unchanged, the BSE Midcap index increased by 0.3 percent.

Tejas Networks’ stock fell 8% on July 24 as the company’s net loss for the April-June quarter increased sequentially.
In comparison to the previous quarter’s loss of Rs 11.5 crore, the company reported a net loss of Rs 26.3 crore for the months of April through June. A year ago, the company had a Rs. 6.6 crore loss.
