The Sensex closed up 79.27 points, or 0.12 percent, at 65,401.92, while the Nifty gained 6.20 points, or 0.03 percent, to 19,434.50. About 1509 shares rose, 2101 fell, and 165 were unchanged. In a turbulent day on August 14, benchmark indices finished flat. The BSE midcap and smallcap indices both fell 0.5 percent.

TVS Supply Chain Solutions’ initial public offering was purchased 1.84 times by investors on August 14, the last day of bidding, with offers for 4.61 crore equity shares versus an offer size of 2.51 crore shares.
Retail investors responded strongly to the offer, purchasing six times the permitted limit. High net worth individuals (HNIs) showed strong support, subscribing 1.71 times the amount made aside for them. Qualified institutional buyers (QIB) purchased 47 percent of the reserved part, which accounted for 75 percent of the IPO. A minimum of 90% subscription in the QIB category is required for any IPO to be successful.
