Top 5 Stocks Of The Day: The top Nifty gainers are NTPC, HDFC Bank, JSW Steel, IndusInd Bank and Tata Steel. On the other hand the top losers include BPCL, Tata Consumer Products, L&T, Eicher Motors and Shriram Finance. Every sectoral index finished higher, with the indices for PSU banks, capital goods, oil and gas, healthcare, real estate along with few others. Additionally, both the BSE smallcap and midcap indices saw a 1% increase.

Sensex and NSE Nifty50
The Nifty was up by 189.40 points and reached at 22,336.40. However the Sensex was up 560.29 points and made it to nearly 73,648.62 at the closing. Around 2465 shares rose and 1148 shares fell. Meanwhile 134 shares remained constant today. On April 22, Indian benchmark indices closed higher for the second straight day, with Nifty closing above 22,300.
