Top 5 stocks of the day: Tata Motors, UPL, Cipla, Hero MotoCorp, and L&T were among the top gainers while Adani Enterprises, HCL Technologies, Hindalco Industries, Tata Steel, and Coal India were among the biggest losers on the Nifty.
Power index fell 0.8 percent, metal indexes fell 1.5 percent each, and real estate index rose 1.5 percent. The BSE midcap index finished flat, while the BSE smallcap index gained 0.4 percent.

Top 5 stocks of the day: Sensex and Nifty50
Benchmark indices finished lower in a volatile session on February 10, with the Nifty hovering around 17,850. The Sensex was down 123.52 points or 0.20% at 60,682.70 at the close, while the Nifty was down 37 points or 0.21% at 17,856.50. Around 1821 shares have risen, 1547 have fallen, and 148 have remained unchanged.
Oil prices jump more than 2%
Oil prices rose more than 2% on Friday, heading for weekly gains, after Russia announced plans to cut oil production next month in response to price caps imposed by the West on the country’s oil and oil products.
By 0900 GMT, Brent crude futures had risen $2.17, or 2.57%, to $86.67 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures in the United States were up $2.01, or 2.57%, to $80.07. Both contracts were on track for weekly gains of more than 8%.
