Top 5 stocks of the day: ITC, NTPC, Axis Bank, L&T and Britannia Industries are the top gainers on the Nifty, whilst Hero MotoCorp, HDFC Life, Wipro, M&M, and SBI Life Insurance are the top losers. All sectoral indices ended the day higher than the Auto index, with Realty, FMCG, Metal, Capital Goods, and Power all seeing 1-1.5 percent increases. The BSE Midcap index increased by 1%, and the smallcap index increased by 0.5 %.

Sensex and NSE Nifty50

The Nifty was up 134.70 points, or 0.67 percent, at 20,267.90 at the closing, while the Sensex was up 492.75 points, or 0.74 percent, at 67,481.19. A little over 2041 shares rose, 1566 shares fell, and 132 shares remained constant. On December 1, benchmark indices closed higher for the fourth straight day, with Nifty closing above 20,250.

PVR-Inox gained 2 percent

After PVR-Inox opened its new six-screen location at Jio World Plaza in Mumbai on December 1, the company’s shares increased by 2% to reach the day’s high of Rs 1,755 per share. The multiplex operator has added another Imax screen, bringing the total number of Imax screens to 22 across India and 4 in Mumbai. The PVR-Inox stock has increased by 8% over the last month, while the benchmark Sensex has increased by 6%. At Jio World Plaza in Mumbai, PVR-Inox has opened a bar and lounge in addition to offering movie rentals.
