Maiya Samman Yojana: On the eve of Karam Parv, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will visit the holy land of Ghantabari Dhoromgarh in Lalpania, Bokaro, on Friday to release the second installment of the Maaiyaan Samman Yojana. Under this scheme, the Chief Minister will transfer the honorarium directly to the bank accounts of over 4.5 million women in the state. The first installment of the scheme had been distributed earlier in various phases by the Chief Minister.
Over 4.8 Million Women Registered for the Scheme
As of now, 4,815,048 women have registered to benefit from the scheme, with 4,536,597 women having already received the honorarium. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed that the honorarium be transferred to the beneficiaries’ accounts by the 15th of every month to ensure timely financial support.
18 to 20-Year-Old Women Now Eligible
Following the Chief Minister’s directive and the approval of the state cabinet, women between the ages of 18 and 20 will now also be eligible for the benefits of the Maaiyaan Samman Yojana. Previously, only women between the ages of 21 and 50 were covered under the scheme. Soon, this younger age group will begin receiving the honorarium as well.
Applications for the scheme began on August 3, and after receiving feedback about difficulties in the online process, the Chief Minister authorized offline applications to simplify access for all eligible women.
