At the age of 86 when Ratan Tata took his last breath, the eyes of the entire nation were filled with tears to bid him a farewell. The business tycoon’s professional journey has been an intriguing one but most of the time people questioned his love life as well. It is like, when you’re the center of attention, everything revolves around your personal life. Ratan Tata’s First Lady Love
It was quite unusual for a businessman like Ratan Tata to never get married or fall in love. But, it is not true, he did fall in love at a young age. Once in an interview, the chairman of Tata Group talked about his first love story. It was when he got his first job in the US. The business mogul enjoyed a sweet relationship with a girl and everything was going great. But, on one fine day, when he decided to return to India to meet his ailing grandmother after seven years. At that time, he was sure that he would marry his lady love. But, things took a different turn. When he returned to the US to ask his lover to come with him to India, her parents didn’t agree with it due to the Indo-China war. This caused the split between the two.
In the interview with Humans of Bombay, he said, “After college, I landed a job at an architecture firm in LA, where I worked for two years. It was a beautiful time. The weather was beautiful, I had my own car, and I loved my job. It was in LA that I fell in love and almost got married. But at the same time, I had made the decision to move back at least temporarily since I had been away from my grandmother who wasn’t keeping too well for almost 7 years.” He further said, “So I came back to visit her and thought that the person I wanted to marry would come to India with me. But because of the Indo-China war, her parents weren’t okay with her moving anymore, and the relationship fell apart.”
Ratan Tata and his relationship with Bollywood Actress
Ratan Tata’s love life has always been a curious topic for people. As big as his title has been, his relationships have also been many. Industrialist Ratan Tata was once rumoured to be dating Bollywood actress Simi Garewal. The two shared a really close bond and almost got married but once again things didn’t go as planned. Simi Garewal in an interview called him a gentleman and a very modest person. She said, “Ratan and I go back a long way. He’s perfect, he’s got a sense of humour, is modest, and is the perfect gentleman.”
After Ratan Tata demise, Simi wrote a heartfelt post for him. She said, “They say you have gone .. It’s too hard to bear your loss..too hard.. Farewell my friend..#RatanTata.”
