A vigilant consumer reported the scam that is taking place on Zomato via a LinkedIn post after taking to the social media platform. He talked about a recent incident he had with a Zomato Food Delivery agent, which he felt did not reflect the nation’s entrepreneurial spirit.
Customer discloses scam taking place in the food delivery aggregator – Zomato
In a post on LinkedIn, he described his interaction with a Zomato food delivery agent, who advised him not to make online payments going forward and showed him how to defraud the food- delivery aggregator.

The user alleged that a huge scam is unfolding in Zomato.
To this, CEO Deepender Goyal commented,
” Aware of this. Working to plug the loopholes”.
Post unveils the conversation
A LinkedIn user named Vinay Sati posted,
“I got Goosebumps hearing what scam is happening with Zomato.”
He quotes the agent,
“Aap bas mujhe 200rs, 300rs de dena or 1000rs ke khane ke maje lena (You just pay me ₹ 200, 300 and enjoy food worth ₹ 1,000),”.
“He said that next time when you will order food worth 700-800rs through COD (Cash On Delivery) you only have to pay 200rs for that. I will show it to Zomato that you have not taken the food but will also give you the food you ordered.”
Full blown scam revealed by the Customer of Zomato , has put before Deepender Goyal a hobson’s choice , and he stated that he had two choices – either to enjoy the offer or expose the scandal and being an entrepreneur himself , he chose the later.
