Zomato: The Indian online food delivery platform, Zomato announced a new initiative to differentiate its Non-Vegetarian fleet from the Vegetarian ones. The platform announced that now it will have a new green fleet to deliver vegetarian food. Meanwhile, the food delivery platform also announced that the delivery personnel who will deliver the Pure Veg food will also wear green t-shirts. Now Zomato has a Pure Veg Mode in its app for users who are vegetarians.
The company already implemented this initiative, but the decision to wear green outfits is not appreciated by the customers of Zomato. The social media uproar forced the platform to take back its decision to have a different outfit for Pure Veg and Non Veg food delivery. Check more details below.
Zomato CEO Deepinder Gays Says…
The Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal took to X to inform people and update them on the company’s decision to remove on-ground segregation of the delivery personnel using the green colour. This decision was taken back after increasing customer dissatisfaction which is apparent on social media platforms as of now.
Why the Green Outfit Made Customers Dissatisfied?
Zomato was forced to pull back its decision of the on-ground differentiation of the Pure Veg and Non Veg fleet because it generated a sense of dissatisfaction among customers. This probably happened because there are some societies and areas where people still have a sense of hatred for people who eat non-vegetarian food. On the other hand, people who live in rented houses and whose landlords don’t allow Non-vegetarian food will face problems when Zomato’s non-veg fleet is clearly differentiated. So, this was the primary reason that the two different fleets and uniforms for the Pure Veg and Non-veg flat failed to receive appreciation from the customers.
