The much-awaited Cabinet reshuffle will be held in just a few moments from now at 6 PM. After the official announcement, the newly elected Cabinet members will take part in a swearing-in ceremony at Durbar Hall in Rashtrapati Bhavan with COVID appropriate protocols in place.
The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has accepted the resignation of 12 members of the Council of Ministers including IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank.
Other ministers who have tendered their resignation include DV Sadananda Gowda, Thaawarchand Gehlot, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Babul Supriyo, Dhotre Sanjay Shamrao, Rattan Lal Kataria, Pratap Chandra Sarangi, and Debasree Chaudhuri.
Who will take oath in cabinet reshuffle?
Among the big names, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Pashupati Kumar Paras, Bhupender Yadav, Anupriya Patel, Shobha Karandlaje, Meenakshi Lekhi, Ajay Bhatt and Anurag Thakur will take the oath.
There will be 12 members from the SC community, including two in the cabinet; eight members will be from ST category in the council of ministers out of which three will be in the cabinet.
In a big decision before the rejig, the Centre also shifted governors of eight states today.
