Car Tyre Pressure: Most of you regularly add air to your car’s tyres to ensure safety while driving. But have you checked the tire’s air pressure? it’s crucial to always check the tyre pressure when adding air to the tyres; failing to do so could result in significant financial loss. Here, we’ll tell you how much air your vehicle should have.
Car Tyre Pressure: How much should it be?
Maintaining 28 to 30 pounds of air pressure in the car throughout the summer is recommended. Bike tyres should be kept inflated at a pressure between 23 and 28 pounds.
Maintaining 32 to 35 pounds of air pressure in the car is necessary during the winter. The bike should also be inflated to a pressure of 30 to 32 pounds.
During the summer and winter seasons, different air pressures are used for tyres.
During the summer, you must have frequently seen news reports about tyres bursting. Tyre bursts are more likely in the summer because air expands faster during that time. Lower tyre pressure (less than 30 pounds) is therefore advised throughout the summer.
Tyre maintenance is less of an issue in the winter than it is in the summer. The density of air decreases in cold temperatures, so bear that in mind. When this occurs, you should maintain 33 to 35 pounds of air pressure in your car’s tyres.
Nitrogen option
Because nitrogen lowers operating temperature, it slows tyre wear. Nitrogen has a higher thermal stability than either oxygen or regular compressed air. A nitrogen-filled tire’s temperature increase throughout the heat cycle is still moderate. Longer tyre life is the outcome.
