Sonali Phogat died on 23 August in a restaurant in Goa. She was taken from the restaurant to the hospital. She was declared brought dead by the doctors in the hospital. So far, Goa Police has arrested Sonali’s PA Sudhir Sangwan and Sudhir Sangwan along with him in this case. At the same time, now the Goa government has decided to hand over the matter to the CBI.
Sonali Phogat murder case will now be probed by CBI. Goa Police will handover the entire case to the CBI. In this case, Sonali Phogat’s daughter Yashodhara Phogat had also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and on Sunday also demanded that the investigation of Sonali Phogat case be done by CBI.
Sonali Phogat’s daughter Yashodhara Phogat in a Khap Panchayat in Hisar said that we demand a CBI inquiry into the matter. We have no hope from the government now nor have we got any assurance from them.
Significantly, on Sunday, a Khap Panchayat was organized in Hisar, Haryana, where Yashodhara Phogat said this. The Khap Panchayat was organized to demand a CBI inquiry into Sonali Phogat’s death. In this Khap Panchayat, leaders of Khaps from all over Haryana were present.
A few days ago, Sonali Phogat’s daughter wrote a letter to the PM. Yashodhara wrote in the letter, “A CBI inquiry should be conducted into the murder of my mother.” According to media reports, the victim’s family has also demanded police protection for Yashodhara. After Sonali’s departure, daughter Yashodhara is the heir to all her property. In such a situation, the family says that Yashodhara’s life is in danger.
