Citroen C3X: Citroen forayed into India by launching its vehicles in the core segments to initially cover a larger consumer base in the country. The automaker launched Citroen C3 and Citroen C3 Aircross in the hatchback and compact SUV segment. Now, the French automaker plans to introduce a new car, the Citroen C3X which will be introduced in the Sedan segment and fill the gap in the automaker’s portfolio. Citroen C3X will be a notchback design Sedan featuring a high-riding position. It looks like a mix of Sedan and SUV. The upcoming sedan has been recently spotted in testing. Citroen C3X: A Unique Design
The Citroen C3X is expected to get an advantage over its rivals in the market because of its unique design elements as it comes with a distinctive notchback body styling coupled with SUV characteristics. Citroen C3X will be the only car to come with a notchback body design in the affordable price segment. Citroen C3X’s notchback design has been seen in luxury cars such as Porsche Panamera and Mercedes Benz EQS.
As seen in the recent spy shots, Citroen C3X’s high-riding stance gives it an aggressive look and a high-ground clearance. The upcoming car will expectedly get a ground clearance of around 200mm. As the vehicle was completely camouflaged, it revealed only some of its design elements such as its derives its front fenders, bonnet and front doors from the C3 Aircross. The sloping window line cues give a clue that the high-riding sedan will get all-new doors at the rear side.
Citroen C3X: Powertrain Details
The upcoming C3X will be based on the CMP platform as the other C-Cubed models of the French automaker. It is expected to be equipped with the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine which churns out the maximum power of 110 bhp. The powerhouse comes coupled with a manual and automatic transmission. Citroen will also launch an all-electric variant of the C3X which will expectedly join the line-up after 6 months of its ICE counterparts.
