Citroen pledges to safety! Offers 6 airbags as standard across its entire range in India, what it means

Citroen to offer 6 airbags as standard across its entire range in India, Details

Citroen: Carmakers have been attempting to gradually add this safety element to their inventory, even though India currently lacks a six-airbag requirement for new cars. Citroen, the French automaker, is the most recent to announce this upgrade to their fleet, albeit it will not immediately feature six airbags. Rather, starting in the second half of this year, or July 2024, the Citroen C3, Citroen eC3, and Citroen C3 Aircross will receive this safety improvement. Only dual-front airbags are available on these three locally produced Citroen models.

Citroen to offer 6 airbags

In India, all variations of the French automaker’s entire range will now come standard with six airbags. All India-specified models will be equipped with six airbags as well as standard safety features like rear seatbelt reminder and ISOFIX seat anchoring. During the second part of 2024, these modifications will take effect.

The brand’s dedication to delivering a secure mobility solution for its consumers is demonstrated by the six-airbag system, which consists of front, side, and curtain airbags for comprehensive protection in the case of a collision.

What did the company say?

Aditya Jairaj, MD and CEO of Stellantis India said, “At Citroen, we continuously evaluate and react to consumer requirements with speed to meet their evolving needs. The safe mobility ambition of the brand will continue to push our team to provide the highest level of protection, drive quality, and value to our customers.”
