Bharat Jodo Yatra spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi had generated massive eyeballs on social media platforms and had evinced a massive response from geographies it had passed. At Congress Plenary session, the Grand Old Party has decided to unveil another yatra which will be led by Rahul Gandhi and will run its course from Eastern part of India to the Western far end regions of our country.
Congress Plans New Cross Country March from East to West
East to West cross country yatra will keep alive the momentum of the Bharat Jodo Yatra in the run up to the 2024 General Elections. The party sources are enthusiastic about this yatra and are working on its nitty gritty’s.
Rahul Gandhi even during his Bharat Jodo Yatra had indicated that he would be doing an east to west cross country march, but details of the March were not worked out and was in the conceptualization stage.
Speaking during Plenary session, Rahul Gandhi stated that Congress “party of sacrifice” and the “sacrifice and work must continue”.
“Please make a programme with our sweat and blood, and the entire country will be with us,”
“For four months we had undertaken the Bharat Jodo Yatra… Lakhs of people participated despite extreme weather conditions and we all learnt a lot”.
Rahul Gandhi had also apprised the audiences of the subject of responsibilities which occupied his mind during long, arduous 1,760 km march.
He stated,
“The day we started doing this everything changed. We didn’t talk politics… the relationship (with people) changed… Bharat Mata gave me a message to shed all the arrogance… I used to meet people and the arrogance etc, all vanished. When I reached Jammu and Kashmir, I became quiet… I don’t have a house. Whoever comes, rich or poor, old or young, any religion, they must know I have come to their house,”
Congress Plans to work with like minded parties and lead alliance
Further Gandhi who takes pride in his physical fitness and has been a subject of many a tweets by his party and supporters said he was,
“having a lot of pain” in his leg while he was rowing a snake boat in Kerala. “I used to get up in the morning and wonder how will I do this walk every day,”
In the meantime , the Congress has decided to work along with like-minded political parties in the run up to 2024 elections and has plans to lead the alliance,
Priyanka Gandhi stated, “We would like all political parties to forge unity and work together to fight the BJP,”
