A court in Velez Malaga in Southern Spain has ordered an ex husband to pay his wife a whopping Rs 1.75 crore ( 1,80,000 Pound) for 25 years of unpaid domestic work. Domestic work, which should have been split equally between the husband and wife—was the basis for this matrimonial court case.

Reports have stated that judge Laura Ruiz Alaminos ordered Ivana Morals’ ex-husband to give her the sizable sum as part of the divorce settlement.
As per Media reports, the penalty was determined based on the minimum salary for the work Moral performed during her marriage.
The judge determined that Moral, a mother of two, had been in charge of all household duties for more than 20 years. She spent her time ‘essentially working in the home, which meant looking after the home and the family’.

Husband only wanted wife to work at home and occasionally at Gym he owned
Moral, in her submission to court stated that her husband only wanted her to work at home and occasionally in the gyms he owned.
She stated,
“I have dedicated myself exclusively to housework, looking after my husband and the house. He made me take on the specific role of doing domestic chores, to the extent that. I was in a place where I couldn’t really do much else,”
According to reports, Moral and her husband’s marriage was governed by separation of property regime.
When asked why she was forced to manage “public relations and functioned as a monitor” in her husband’s gyms, Moral told that she didn’t want to work outside the home.
The ex-husband was ordered by a court in Velez-Malaga, southern Spain, to pay Moral a monthly daycare charge for their daughters, one of whom is a minor.
