The court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of accused Ashish Mishra in the Tikoniya violence case of Lakhimpur Kheri. Ashish was arrested on October 9 last after 12 hours of interrogation and is on three-day police remand since October 12. At the same time, in this case, the police have arrested two other accused Ankit Das and lawyer alias Kale. Ankit Das has been sent to judicial custody till October 22. So far 6 arrests have been made in this case.
The investigating officer of the case, SP Yadav said that the bail application of Ashish Mishra alias Monu has been rejected by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Chintaram. Yadav said that the court has also granted three-day police remand of Shekhar Bharti, another accused in the case. Bharti was arrested on 12 October.

Significantly, on October 3, eight people, including four farmers, were killed in the violence during the farmers’ protest at Lakhimpur Kheri. A murder case was registered against Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra and others in this case. The opposition parties are targeting the government fiercely on this matter.
