Total confirmed cases of the coronavirus in India have surged past the 19-lakh mark, with over 35,000 deaths. Globally, the death toll from the virus has crossed the 7-lakh mark, with over 18 million infections worldwide.
India’s covid-19 recovery rate raises to 67.19 % on Wednesday, while the case fatality rate has further dropped to 2.09 percent Union Health Ministry side.

The number of novel coronavirus cases in Maharashtra has crossed 458K, and 16,142 deaths; at least 299K people recovered. Maharashtra is still on the top of the state in the number of positive cases.
On Tuesday, the number of cases in Delhi, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, which drove up the number of India’s coronavirus disease infections for much of April, May, and June, accounted for just 26.5% of the total 50,777 cases in the country, according to the HT dashboard.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that 2,21,49,351 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country till yesterday (August 5). Of these, 6,64,949 were tested yesterday.
