India recorded 62,482 cases on Thursday, taking the tally to 20,23,821, as per data collated from state governments. India has the quickest growth rate of the infection (3.1%).
More than 18.5 million cases and 7,00,000 deaths have been reported globally. The Americas remain the current epicentre of the pandemic. Over half of all cases are reported from just 3 countries.
In India, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Assam and Karnataka. Yet, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 67.6 per cent.

As per data from the state health department, 3416 new cases of corona have been reported in Bihar, the number of corona infected in the state has increased to 68148. According to the Health Department, 1450 people have recovered from Corona in the last 24 hours. At the same time, the total number of people who have been cured in the state so far is 43820. The recovery rate in the state is 64.30 per cent.
According to the latest bulletin, as many as 15 fatalities were recorded in the past 24 hours in Delhi. The number of active cases rose from Wednesday’s 10,072 to 10,348 on Thursday. An official said the positivity rate – number of confirmed cases from those tested – currently stood at 6.3 per cent, while the recovery rate was over 89 per cent.
